Is there any way that we can have the embedded quotes restriction lifted?? Only two quotes is way too hard to "fix" when you are quoting in mafia games.....

You are not limited to two quotes. You are limited to having only a quote within a quote. You know, embedded.

Honestly, dl15 would have been fine if he just deleted all the excess stuff.

Whenever I go to quote someone, if they happen to be quoting someone else, I automatically delete that. That way it's never much of a problem.

I poked around the help files and saw that I can set it to unlimited embedded quotes. It has been done.

Now, don't go complaining about the inevitable mountain of embedded quotes!

I would like to know~ as for me, I know i had to abandon more than one post I had spent time on, because of the limit. Unlike some, I am the suck at coding, and I always screwed my links up because I never knew which linkbacks to eliminate, and which text went with what, lol~

LP's embedded quote limit is 1, isn't it? For me it automatically deletes everything other than the direct quote.

I've never seen embedded quotes really be a problem here, before the limit was imposed, so not sure why it was implemented in the first place. It was annoying when trying to post something you worked ages on to have to go back and edit out the third embedded quote...

Maybe a compromise could be reached and maybe limit it to 3 - 5?

@TH - yes, LP does automatically strip out the embedded quotes.

It is something you set in ACP/Post settings.... the default is "5" or you can set it to "0" for no restriction, or however many you want to allow.

It keeps posts cleaner. Otherwise you end up with messy posts like dl's. (Sorry dl, but seriously oO) Then someone quotes that post and then you're 4 quotes in and it is even more ridiculous to read. Pretty soon you'll end up with posts like Kadaj's except they'll be real posts that nobody can make heads or tails of anymore. It makes things spammier. The limit is a reminder "hey, clean up this post" and I don't think that is a reminder we want to get rid of. Cleaning things up is a simple matter of deleting regular post text or find the

I have it at the default setting on RM of "5", but I agree, 3 or 4 is good.

I had not seen that message about the 2 embedded quotes restriction until the Alice game. Never seen it here at TP before that.....

I definitely need more than the 2 levels that we were dealing with. I do keep my posts neat and tidy, and sometimes it just preserves the overall meaning better when you can have another level or two of quoting. I agree that it should only be used with a keen post-designer's eye and experienced hand... and also that unlimited quotes is never necessary.
